American Crafts Knock Outs Border Punch Kit | How To’sday

The fabulous Staci Jones is back again showing us what a knock out the American Crafts Knock Outs Border Punch kit is. I love that it comes with six different border options and a handy-dandy carrying case, and I really love what Staci has done with the punches! So don’t mind me while I step aside for a moment to hurry and hit the steal button on today’s awesome steal. :)

I was ecstatic when Kristy asked me to show all you fabulous people one of my favorite scrapbooking tools—the American Crafts Knock Outs punch.  I am totally in love with this wonderful tool and use it often.  I put off buying punches for a long time because I dreaded the amount of room they take up. My husband surprised me with the American Crafts Knock Outs punch for Christmas last year and it was such a great surprise.

My favorite things about these punches are:
1) Storage is slim and the case can be easily be stacked, especially if space is tight.
2) Super easy to assemble and use and don’t take a lot of time. Easy to put back in its case.

3) Six different punches in one sweet case! And they are borders I would actually use.
4) Great Price. For six different punches it is definitely nice on the pocketbook.

Have I convinced you to steal yet? Check out these fun projects and head on over and hit “Steal Me!”  You won’t regret it!

Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter | Monday Card Madness #94

Martha, Martha, Martha. That crafty diva has taken glitter to the next level with today’s steal, the Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter 12 Pack. Cardmaking aside, I can see lots of uses for this glitter. The fun shapes will make the perfect topper for my pedicure and fun new flair the “tooth fairy” will undoubtedly be leaving her dust beneath a pillow sometime soon.

On Saturday I had the pleasure of scrapbooking at a local store with a 8 other local ScrapbookSteals fans. It was a fantastic day and I had a great time putting the Martha Stewart glitter to use, and even got Kerys Sharrock and Deb Routledge to put their own twist on today’s steal.

I knew I wanted to create some sort of a “shaker box” for today’s cards since the glitter is almost more of a confetti type glitter.I created the base of my card then used my 2″ circle punch to make a window in the card. I cut a piece of the plastic from a set of my Thickers and with the help of a little washi tape, created a nice pocket/window to fill with glitter. After filling it, I simply taped it to the inside of the card.

I just have to say how perfectly the My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist collections work with these glitters!

I then tried something a little different and applied glue to the circles on the front of this card. I added different colors of glitter hearts and came up with this card.

Deb Routledge made this card off the top of her head. The paper piecing is brilliant! Not to mention such fun heart confetti water. And in the words of my five year old “this card is beautiful.”

Design Team member, Kerys Sharrock made this darling snowman card with a spin on the sketch for today. I love the window with stars in the snowman’s belly.

Don’t forget there are two more days to participate in the We R Memory Keepers Operation Write Home Card Drive. As a little incentive and a thank you to those participating, we have a lovely Red White and Blue Stack Pack that will be given to one random winner who participates in the Operation Write Home Card Drive.

To enter to win:

We will have a random drawing from all of the card drive participants. The winner will be announced on our July 30th Monday Card Madness blog post. (Don’t forget! Post your cards to a regular Monday Card Madness blog post by August 3rd in order to be eligible for our regular monthly drawing.)

Tomorrow we are in for another terrific How To’sday from Staci Jones!

Have a great day!

Imaginisce Sole Sisters

Today Design Team member Kerys Sharrock shows us the the unlimited potential of the Imaginisce Sole Sisters collection. I think its unlimited potential matches my unlimited love for buying new shoes. And what’s better than new paper for your stash that has shoes on it? I know! Maybe buying new shoes and then using that paper to make a layout about it. :)

For now, enjoy Kerys’ amazing projects, darling kiddos, and craftiness at using the embellishment packaging in her projects!

For my first Design Team post I was absolutely THRILLED to use the Imaginisce ‘Sole Sisters’ collection. I had secretly been hoping to see this collection come up on Scrapbook Steals ever since I saw the launch over on the Imaginisce blog. I had even bought myself some stick pins and buttons that matched the collection! There is SO much exciting stuff in this collection, so I tried to make a variety of projects using each and every bit. (Including the packaging!)

My first project was inspired by my daughter’s recent dance recital—how perfect that her outfit should be black and red! I made a mini book full of all her pre-show poses and dance moves. The red background paper on these pages is actually the packaging from the embellishments. I always try and use the packaging wherever possible. I used a variety of the papers and embellishments from the collection, trying to stick to the color scheme, and added twine and brads.

Next, I went to town making cards. This has become one of my recent passions and, I must say, with this collection it was SUPER easy! All the inspiration I needed was right there in the packets. The first card uses the border strip paper and and embellishments from the collection. Add one little sentiment stamp and voila, a quick and easy card!

The next card took a little more time and effort, but as soon as I found the ‘If the shoe fits….’ quote, I just knew I had to use the shoe stamp from the collection. I used a variety of colored inks and then jazzed the shoes up with a little twine.

The last card was made using another one of the stamps from the collection, colored in with prismacolor pencils. I also added one of my stick pins and buttons I mentioned earlier—not from this collection but a perfect match.

And lastly, just to show those of you who think ‘this collection is no good, I only have boys to scrap!” — a boy layout! This one is my son who recently took part in the 4th July Parade in Park City with his school. As you can see, the papers can be just as easily used for a more masculine page. These papers worked out perfectly.

So as you can see, I was in IMAGINISCE heaven with this ‘Sole Sisters’ collection. I hope I’ve inspired you all to hit that steal button and grab a great collection. I had so much fun with this, and still have SO much left to play with! :) Thanks again Brittany and Kristy for matching me up so perfectly with this collection.

Until next time—happy scrapping :) x

Kerys, your projects are stunning! You know me and my allergy to stamping, but wow, that shoe card makes me want to bust out some inks!

Thank you so much for sharing with us today. I can’t wait until next month to see what you have in store for us.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! I know I will. Tomorrow I get to scrap with Kerys and a bunch of other local Utah gals. I can’t wait!

Glitz Design Happy Travels Collection | Mid Week Mojo

Pearl – Layout 2

Just like today’s steal, the Happy Travels Collection by Glitz Design, I’ve been enjoying some time off. I’ve spent the past week relaxing by the pools in Vegas with my hunny then working my tush off teaching a class in Chicago at the Craft and Hobby Association show.

Design team member Katrina Hunt stepped up and offered to help me out with this week’s Mid Week Mojo so there could be a little less crazy on my plate.  I think you’ll be happy that she did. Amazing talent. Amazing product. Amazing sketch.

It’s Katrina here with Mid Week Mojo!  Go easy on me — I’m not used to making sketches, but I thought this one was fun and has some great possibilities.  And if you’re like me, you need a pick-me-up during the week.  I’m a girl who works for the weekend (or days off)!

I haven’t ever worked with Glitz Design before, so I was excited when the Happy Travels collection was the steal I was getting to work with.  The colors are more subdued that I usually go for, but I love the way they make the photos pop on my layout!

The airplane paper and clouds were the jumping off point for my overall layout.  And I loved the little glittered heart that was popped up on one of the cardstock stickers.  I just took it off and used it on my cloud!

The little epoxy sticker and gemstone were the perfect addition to my twine that I had wrapped around my picture.  There are lots of little items that you can add for details and I love that!

In place of the flags, I decided to use the numbers and just highlight that area in a different way than the flags.

And because  you can always change a sketch to use it however you want, I decided to make a card based on it.  Some of the collection is loved themed and some is travel, so I decided to make a love themed card. I thought the hearts coming out of the mason jar were fun.

Play along with us this week and make sure and link to your project so we can see it!

Fancy Pants Designs Transparencies | How To’sday

So you’re smitten with transparencies and love adding them on top of a layout, but really want to get a little more use out of them. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with snazzing up a layout with one snappy step, there is so much more to these thin sheets of plastic than meets the eye.

Today Staci Jones shows us fun new ways you can use transparencies like the ones in today’s steal, the Fancy Pants Designs, Paper, Transparency and Sticker collection.

• • • • •

Transparency.  Some may cringe when it is listed in a kit, but have no fear- the possibilities are endless! When Kristy asked me to do a how-to with transparencies, I dug out some of my favorites from Fancy Pants and got to work.

Transparencies could easily be affixed to a piece of plain cardstock and then jazzed up with some Stickles to make a quick and easy background.

The picture could be adhered on top of the transparency…

….or underneath for a cool effect.

If using the whole transparency isn’t appealing, just cut out elements for borders or embellishments on a layout.

Cut them up and they are a great addition to card making.

Think beyond the traditional scrappy projects and they are great for home decor…

…and fun kids room decor.

So what are you waiting for? Steal today and be sure to share your fun projects on ScrapbookSteal’s Facebook page. I would love to see what you create. Thanks for having me today!

Staci, you ooze talent girl! Thanks so much for sharing your projects with us today!
