Meet our Summer Design Team!

Wow. Where do I even begin? I am so crazy excited about our Summer Term Design Team here at ScrapbookSteals! I’ve had the extreme pleasure of getting to know these ladies and I have to admit I’m kind of a little bit scrappy stalker in love with them! Their personalities and their talents are top notch!

I can’t wait for the unveiling of their projects over the next three months. Each Friday, with the exception of Blog Hop Friday, you will be treated to an amazing round of eye candy from one of our designers and on occasion you will be treated to a triple whammy!

Without further adieu, here is the official introduction of our Summer Design Team.

Regina Mangum

Where do you live? San Francisco, CA

What is your favorite thing to make? I love to make layouts, cards, and gifts for friends and family.

Do you have kids? I have one little boy (he’ll be 5 this fall) with one gigantic personality. He’s the light of my life and the source of all my insanity! He is also the star of all my layouts (though my hard-working husband appears in the background chasing him around, too.)

If you could travel anywhere (and scrapbook it) where would you go? I’ve been fortunate to have traveled extensively before my son was born, including to countries in South America, Asia and Europe. Now that I have my rugrat, frankly I’d love to go to Disney World and scrapbook the look on his face!

What is your favorite scrap collection? Yikes! That’s an impossible question for me to answer because it seems to be whatever I’m using at the time — but, I love everything by Imaginisce, American Crafts, Pebbles, Echo Park, Doodlebug, Little Yellow Bicycle, and My Mind’s Eye.

If you were locked in a room and forced to scrapbook, what tool would you have to have and why? “Forced” to scrapbook actually sounds pretty good to me, LOL! If I could only have one tool, it would have to be a sharp pair of scissors. I love to paper-piece and create little scenes in my work. But, a very, very close second would be my die-cutting machine. I think I use it for just about everything I make, but I would also need all my dies (would that be considered cheating?)

Where do you live? Springfield, MO

What is your favorite thing to make? What don’t I like to make? Layouts and altered items are some of my favorites to do.

Do you have kids? I have dogs that are like kids to me and you will see a LOT of them on my projects! They are all Cardigan Welsh Corgis, the corgis with a tail. In order of age and appearance in the household: Higgins, Ella, Jetson, and Sheldon. Higgins and Ella are pet therapy dogs and go to visit nursing homes, etc. We used to do agility, but they kind of like being couch potatoes or chasing squirrels in the backyard instead!

If you could travel anywhere (and scrapbook it) where would you go? Hard one… I would have to say London, England or Italy. I would LOVE to meet the Queen! And I love Italian food… so either would be a win for me.

What is your favorite scrap collection? My ALL TIME favorite is Little Yellow Bicycle’s Fresh Print Clothesline. It is one of the very first collections I ever bought and I still would by it today in a heartbeat.

If you were locked in a room and forced to scrapbook, what tool would you have to have and why? Uh, only ONE tool?? I love my tools! Ok, I would say my Cutterbee scissors. They cut details so easily.  But if the basics were already provided, then I would have to say a border punch please! Love my border punches. Although… I could say my Cameo then I would have everything! Ok, I can’t narrow it down.

What is your favorite thing to make? Layouts.

Do you have kids? 3 kids.
A son, age 12. My quiet, shy boy who’s hitting those teen years FAR too quick! And he’s taller than me too – really not fair!
A daughter, age 8. My confident little extrovert who talks 24/7.
My husband, age **. The worst of the lot!

If you could travel anywhere (and scrapbook it) where would you go? Back to the UK – I miss photographing so many people and places when we lived there! Although I’d quite happily take ANY vacation right now! :)

What is your favorite scrap collection? Too many to choose from! I’m obsessed with them all. I think maybe Imaginisce ‘Sole Sisters’ – love the bright colors and patterns! But then anything Echo Park or MME is good too! Along with BoBunny, American Crafts, Jillibean Soup, Bella Blvd……etc etc!

If you were locked in a room and forced to scrapbook, what tool would you have to have and why? I would just LOVE to be locked in a room and forced to scrapbook! That would be my type of heaven! Somebody – please find a room, lock me in it and force me to scrap!

I think the tool I would like to have the most is my paper piercer – I just LOVE to add twine and stitching to almost all of my layouts and projects, although my cutter would also be a possibility- I can’t cut paper straight to save my life!

American Crafts Fresh Squeezed Collection | Monday Card Madness #91

American Crafts nailed it with the name of today’s steal, the Fresh Squeezed Collection. The happy blend of pinks and yellows splashed with the twists of blue and lime make me want to bust out a lemonade stand and try and make some money! Or at very least, help my kids set one up, take photos, and then scrap about it with these perfect papers. :)

Today I got to whet my appetite with this fun collection and create more cards for the Operation Write Home Card Drive.

The first card I made sort of laid the ground for the sketch this week. I started out with a horizontal format then moved to a vertical one.

I really love the color palate on this collection. It was a hard choice to decide which side of the amazing papers to use so in an effort to stretch it I based a few of my cards on plain cardstock and really love how they turned out! Add the cute stickers and dimensional embellishments and these cards came together in a snap!

I’m so thrilled to be sending these cards on so that they can brighten someone’s day!

Don’t forget that we are currently teamed up with We R Memory Keepers Operation Write Home Card Drive for a fantastic giveaway. We have a lovely Red White and Blue Stack Pack that will be given to one random winner who participates in the Operation Write Home Card Drive.

To enter to win:

We will have a random drawing from all of the card drive participants. The winner will be announced on our July 30th Monday Card Madness blog post. (Don’t forget! Post your cards to a regular Monday Card Madness blog post by August 3rd in order to be eligible for our regular monthly drawing.)

And now it’s time to announce the winner of our June Monday Card Madness. Misty Buck, you are our lucky winner! Your card is positively stunning!

Misty, thank you so much for participating on our weekly card sketch challenge. Please send an email to and we will be happy to send a little scrappy swag out to you!

Tomorrow we are in for a fun How To’sday from Cristine Redmond. Have a great day and don’t forget about the Card Drive. Let’s do our part to help collect 50,000 cards! I’m way excited that I will be hand delivering my contribution of around 20 cards to their offices today!

Good luck!
