Turquoise – Layout 1
What’s that you say? Off to School? Now wait a minute. School is almost over for the year which remains to be seen as a blessing or a curse. But what is most definitely on the thumbs up side of the scale is today’s steal, Off to School by Fancy Pants Designs. Whether school coming to an end means that you are finally going to have the chance to get caught up on those “back to school” photos or whether you are just getting your stash beefed up for when the lazy days of summer end and school starts up again, you wont be disappointed with today’s steal.
You also wont be disappointed with this month’s Guest Mid Week Mojo Sketcher, Misty Buck! Misty has always been such a wonderful part of our ScrapbookSteals family and it’s a true delight to see her creations shine today. Especially how she shows how very versatile this today’s steal can be!
Sit back, enjoy and get ready for an amazing start to our Turquoise Mid Week Mojo series.

Hi all of you beautiful scrappers out in Steal Network land! I’m am so pleased to be guest sketching this month! Although I’ve been and avid scrapbooker since 1995, I’m not sure I would have had the confidence to do this a year ago, but I’ve grown so much and become a full fledged sketch user because of ScrapbookSteals. So when Kristy called and asked me to guest I said that I would love to give it a go. And when Brittany pretty much gave me the pick of the litter I ended up choosing this super fun Fancy Pants Off To School kit (I even chose if over OA Farmhouse! Gasp! I know). I’ll give you a few reasons why and I think you’ll be smitten too.
- First: You don’t have to use it for school layouts
- Second: You can use it for school layouts and teacher thank yous
- Third: The papers have a soft and a bright side depending on what mood you’re going for in a layout
- Fourth: The chipboard accents are really cute!
- Fifth: The chalkboard stickers are fun
- Sixth: The paper prints are so perfect for kids, friends, or even couple layouts. (there’s a cut out card that says “Talk Nerdy To Me”…saving that one for my hubby
- Seventh: The design elements are perfect for adding that special touch without overpowering the entire layout
- Eighth: I could go on and on…did I say I loved the patterns on the papers
- THIS KIT ROCKS!
The sketch I did for today is not really school related at all other than me being a “Student of Hair.” My mom is staying with us for a little while and she’s been French braiding my daughter’s hair. I can honestly say that I stink at doing hair and I am really trying to learn how to do it while she’s here. I wanted to remember this gem of a moment between my daughter and her grandma just as I remember when those same fingers combed through my hair as a little girl and created braided masterpieces and unforgettable memories between mother and daughter.
I hope I’ve shown you how versatile this kit by Fancy Pants can be. You can also visit my blog by clicking here to see a school themed layout I made with a previous sketch.
I’m so grateful for this opportunity and I hope you all have fun with Turquoise #1!
