Echo Park This and That | Mid Week Mojo

Amethyst – Layout 2

Over the years I’ve tried to eliminate my need to be a scrapbook supply hoarder, but today’s steal, the Echo Park This & That Collections, which are a brand new Winter CHA releases, are definitely going to find their way into my pile. :)

You can bet I wasn’t shedding any tears over the fact that I had to create the Amethyst #2 Mid Week Mojo using This and That. The hardest part was trying to decide what photos exactly I should let grace the opportunity of being paired with the glorious papers! I pretty much knew I wanted to create a page with the Charming collection so I plotted a date with my boy.

I know it probably sounds like I say the same things over and over when there is a collection that I love, but I truly could just gush about the This and That collections. I love the fact that the embellishments compliment so perfectly the papers and the letter stickers make creating a title a snap. Oh and how perfect that the Charming collection even comes with numbered brads that I could add to my page to tie in with the journaling of .45 cent wing day on Tuesdays. :)

Now it’s that exceptionally exciting time to announce the lucky winners of our latest online crop! I have been absolutely astounded with all of the crafty magic that has been gracing our Facebook fan page. I truly wish that I had had the time to comment on each and every individual layout, but wow, there were a lot! So exciting to think of all of the pages that are filling up the albums in so many different homes.

And now without further adieu here are the lucky random winners for our challenges 1-4 and our chat issued scavenger hunt.

Charity Becker is the ever-so-talented winner of our Amethyst #1 sketch which also paired as challenge #1 for the online crop. Her pages are always a treat to see and her talents for vintage/shabby are top notch!

The winner of the crop challenge #2, “Keeping it Real”, is Melissa Dehne. I love the peek into Melissa’s life seeing how many books grace the shelves and counters in her home!

Becky Back is the lucky winner of Challenge #3, which was to “Scrap that Stash.” Don’t you agree that she has a wonderful crafting area?

For our final challenge, “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue,” Jen McDermott created this positively darling card.

And for those of you that were able to join in on the fun of our online chat and were given the details for the scavenger hunt, you can help me congratulate Jessica Arrant, as the lucky winner! Look! She even shared her brownie with me. :)

Girls if you will each take a moment and send an email to, letting them know that you are a winner of the on-line crop challenges, we will be happy to get a prize sent out to you.

Good luck creating this week girls. Also be sure to check in tomorrow as we have an amazing guest blogger in the lineup.

Teresa Collins Spring Fling | Monday Card Madness #73

If you’re like me and are counting down the days until warmer weather, then today’s steal, the brand new CHA release, Spring Fling by Teresa Collins, might be just what the doctor ordered! Beautiful butterflies, poppies, gems and buttons are sure to make any paper crafting project a breath of fresh air.

As some of you know, we recently finished up another round of card swapping here at ScrapbookSteals. Not too long ago I was ooohing and ahhhing over a card that one of our crafty fans, Kelly Marks had posted on our Facebook fan page. Imagine my delight when that card showed up for the card swap!

I sheepishly have to admit. I kind of kept that card for myself, being as I loved it the moment I saw it and wanted to base this week’s card sketch off of the design.

I love the simplicity of the design and thought it worked perfectly with the patterns and embellishments in the Spring Fling collection.

Thanks so much Kelly for being our Monday Card Madness inspiration. :) I’ll do my best to not hoard the card and send it back out to brighten someone’s day!

I’m sure you know that It’s truly been an exciting weekend here at ScrapbookSteals and our fan page is on fire with inspiration from our online crop on Friday night. Be sure to stop by and take a peek at all of the amazing creations, and also be sure to have your February Monday Card Madness creations posted and linked to one of the Monday Card Madness blog postings by this upcoming Friday at 11:59 pm MST,  in order to be eligible for our monthly giveaway!

I’ll be seeing you tomorrow with another fantastic tutorial for How To’sday!

My Mind’s Eye Mini Album Project Kits

If you’re a reader of the ScrapbookSteals blog then you know how much I love mini. Everything mini is just too cute! Today’s Mini Album Project Kits by My Mind’s Eye takes mini to a whole new level! Not only do you get a heavy duty, chipboard mini album, but pre-cut papers to fit the pages, and a whole array of coordinating embellishments to make your mini album come together in a snap!

The hardest part of creating this project for today was deciding on which album to make. Pink or blue, blue or pink. Decisions, decisions! I finally settled on the Enlightened project kit since I’m crazy in love with shades of blues, browns and greens right now.

The My Mind’s Eye peeps have definitely got it together. While I have always loved the cute chipboard shaped albums, I have not always loved having to trim papers accordingly. The smart creators behind this gorgeous album have taken that burden away.  They’ve made it a breeze to customize an album to your desire by providing enough pre-cut papers to cover the fronts and backs of each chipboard page as well as some extras to use for mixing and matching it up! Add a bounty of coordinating chipboard embellishments with stickers that are cut to size, and flowers and trims and in just a few hours you can have your very own cherished keepsake to display on a shelf or even give to a friend or relative.

Now if you haven’t heard about what’s going on tonight, be sure to join us for the first ScrapbookSteals online crop of 2012! We always have the best of times with challenges and games and of course, lots of giveaways!
