Epic 6 by Quickutz

If you missed out on the Epic 6 by Quickutz the first time then today is your chance to spend that holiday cash that you’re wondering what to do with!

The Epic is a wonderful little machine that makes die cutting and embossing a cinch. Especially if you are a scrapper on the go, that doesn’t like to port around electronic devices.

If you have any questions on how use the Epic 6 you can check out this blog post. You can see some basic directions as well as a few projects that I made using some of the dies and embossing folders.

I decided to ask around to see if anyone that picked up the Epic 6 last time would be willing to share some creations to spark the inspiration for today. Erica Bass was a superstar and stepped up to the challenge.

I love the layout that she created using the rainbow die.

And this card with the birdy and the sunbursts has got to be one of the cutest cards I have ever seen. Truly!

Garnet – Layout 3

I decided to take  a little bit of a holiday break this week and base my sketch heavily off of the layout instructions which are included in today’s steal, by Glitz Designs. I have to admit that sometimes it’s really nice when someone comes up with all of the creative planning thinking and all I have to do is simply create! Today’s kit comes with a directions for a beautiful-shabby-chic style layout which I flipped to create the Garnet #3 layout.

This Christmas has been one of my very favorite to date. I think it had a lot to do with having a blast with my oldest two on Christmas Eve. My daughter Maddi is one of the funniest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is always making me giggle in some way or another and Christmas Eve was no exception. I couldn’t stop laughing when I wandered over to Santa’s cookie plate that my younger kids had set out, and I found one of our moose co0kies had been impregnated. Cookie vandalism? Most likely. Especially since Maddi had an ever-mischievous look on her face.

While this collection is very vintage and very girly, I thought it paired nicely with my Moose Mommy to be.

You girls have been doing a great job at keeping up with the Mid Week Mojos. This week was especially tricky with Christmas and all of the time that it takes, so I decided that we would have two winners this week as an extra thank you to those of you that found time to go the extra mile!

How To’sday | Camouflaged Photos

Have you ever had that problem where you don’t have a panoramic photo option on your camera, you don’t have the photo software editing know how to faux create it, and you really, really, really want to display a photo of something big? Well today Michelle King shows us a pretty innovative solution to that problem.

Here’s the story behind this layout:

My husband and I went to Rome, Italy for our honeymoon in the fall of 2007. One of the major draws for my husband was the Colisseum. It is awesome to behold, I must say and huge! I did not know if our camera could take panoramic shots, so I took two panning the structure, hoping that they sort of lined up. When I printed them, one was higher than the other, so one had more sky, one didn’t…you know how it is. Not wanting to lose the shot I had envisioned, I decided to just let go of all rules and cut, cut, cut! I took the two pictures and lined them up next to each other to see where they should meet and then cropped the top and bottom so that they did line up. Then to try to camouflage the imperfect center, I decided to cut the two pictures in strips and fan them out. At first glance, most people have often exclaimed what a great panoramic picture I have taken. Little do they realize how I have doctored the final product.

Hope this is helpful to anyone who has thought they lost the shot they wanted or thought they had. You just have to be willing to cut the pictures…

Boxing Day Sale | Monday Card Madness #64

Happy Boxing Day! In light of today being the long sought after Archive Sale, I thought I’d have a little fun myself and dig into the archives of my card sketches and create something from some of my product on hand using one of the sketches from last December. (You may choose any of these sketches to create from this week).

I decided to pull out some of my Bella Blvd. collections since they are so bright and happy, and since Utah is so frigid right now it helped me to remember that warmth will come again. :)

Don’t forget your challenge of sending out joy! It’s especially fun at this time of year to receive a handmade card from someone you love.

Crate Paper Emma’s Shoppe | Mid Week Mojo

Garnet – Layout 2

I was so excited when I knew I’d be working with today’s steal, Emma’s Shoppe by Crate Paper, since I knew it was a collection that my friend Erin Schultz was eyeballing to use with some recent family photos that she had done. She so graciously allowed me to take a stab at scrapping one of her favorites. I hope she likes how it turned out! I know I for one, can’t stop smiling at how well everything came together. Then again, with such great papers to work with and such a cute family photo, how could it go wrong?

I love the mix of vintage, colors, patterns and textures of this collection not to mention the great border stickers that the kit includes. Perfect for adding that finishing touch!  All in all, Emma’s Shoppe was definitely a refreshing collection to play with.

Thanks Erin for letting me create this page for you. It was truly an honor. (Even though it makes me miss you more!)
