Pebbles Floral Lane | Monday Card Madness #59

I’ll be straight up honest with you all. I am absolutely, totally, positively, head over heels in love with today’s steal, Floral Lane by Pebbles, Inc. Maybe it’s the rich color scheme or maybe it’s the the unique texture of the papers. Perhaps it’s the fact that the world is beginning to look dreary and these papers are a little vacay to spring, or it might just be that today is my 19th wedding anniversary and love is just in the air! Whatever it is, today’s steal, for me, is love!

I had the best time creating cards for today. I love the plethora of embellishments that are part of the collection not to mention the darling cut off strips, which became a key part of this week’s card design.

I am so excited about this kit that I’m dying to use my many, many leftovers to create a layout to hang on my wall.

Hopefully all of the state side girls that participated in our holiday card swap have their cards in hand and are enjoying all of the beautiful creations which were made. Don’t fret Canadian friends, your cards are on the way!

I know it’s only been a couple of weeks since our last card swap wrapped up, but I’m going to throw out the information for the next card swap.

  • This card swap will not have any particular theme.
  • The only requirements are that cards with envelopes are received to the ScrapbookSteals warehouse by January 16th.
  • Cards can be sent to this address:

ScrapbookSteals
ATTN: Card Swap
2181 California Ave., #400
Salt Lake City, UT  84104

  • After sending your cards please send me an email to kristy@stealnetwork.com, letting me know to be on the lookout for your cards.

If you have any questions please let me know.

If you’d like to be eligible for the November random drawing for Monday Card Madness, all you need to do is complete any (or all!) of the Monday Card Madness sketches, post your creation to our fan page or your own personal blog, then leave a link on this blog to that creation no later than 11:59 PM MST on Friday, December 2nd, 2011.

I hope you have a great Monday!

Quest for the Lost Archive

The BabySteals, KidSteals and ScrapbookSteals archives are coveted by many. Any woman that knew the secret link held the power to a place full of magical treasures for a steal of a deal. Then a mysterious force made them disappear — they became the long, lost archives and women were forced to pay, *gasp* full price. And then…

Da, da, da, da…duh, dun, na.

One brave woman, In”deal”ana Jones, went on a quest to find the lost archives in the hopes to bring the great power back to womankind.

My Mind’s Eye | Dear Santa

I thought I’d have a little fun today and call upon a scrappy friend, from when I had my very first scrapbooking gig almost eight years ago. Sharyn Tormanen is one crazy-talented, super-crafty girl and does a stellar job at showcasing today’s steal, Dear Santa by My Mind’s Eye.

When I received Dear Santa in the mail, I had several thoughts.  1. I don’t think I can ever have too much Christmas paper and 2. I love Cardinals!

I’ve also been recently addicted to the smaller pads of paper, so I’m loving the 8×8 pad. While I scrapbook in 12×12, I love the challenge of using the smaller paper for my pages.

I also loved using it here to cover my 9×9 album.

Each year I create an album for our Christmas cards. Each year is a different size, and each year is unique. It’s also my goal to get last year’s cards “booked” before this year’s cards start arriving. An admirable goal, I think. *wink*

So for this album I started with some 9″ square chipboard and covered it with Mod Podge and paper from the Dear Santa set.

Since the paper is just 8″ and my book is 9″, I hid the seam along along the bottom edge with the circle embellishment.

And because the chipboard sticker didn’t come with numbers, I lucked out and used the l and the o to create the number ’10 to represent the year.

I used The Cinch to bind my book together.

Still hooked on the paper and the colors, I made a few quick and easy cards of my own.

Thank you Sharyn! It’s never occurred to me to create a mini album using the holiday photo cards that are sent each year. What a great idea and now the Cinch is definitely on my list of must-haves!

Be sure to check out Sharyn’s blog for further creative ideas, amazing photography and, well, some pretty great humor! Thanks Sharyn for being our guest at ScrapbookSteals today.

Have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday with some pretty cute cards that you will not want to miss!

Google Checkout is Transitioning to Google Wallet

~ Special Announcement ~

Google Checkout is becoming Google Wallet

What does this mean for customers?
You will be a part of the transition, but you don’t need to do much.  When you log in to your Google Checkout account you will be prompted to accept their new terms and conditions. Once you accept, you are good to go, ready to checkout just like usual. Gradually you will see the logos change and be a part of updates and upgrades as Google continues to merge the two.

What is Google Wallet?
To lessen confusion among their brands, Google is transitioning Google Checkout to Google Wallet. It is a smart, virtual wallet that allows you to save time and money by storing your payment cards, offers, and more on your phone and online. Also, you can lock it up with a PIN to ensure your money stays extra secure, as always. Their fraud protection policy covers you against unauthorized purchases made through Google Wallet, and your payment information is securely encrypted and stored.

Here are answers to a few FAQs about Google Wallet. To read more about Google Wallet, click here.
