Imaginisce Happy Harvest | Monday Card Madness #55

I don’t know about everywhere else in the world, but finally Utah is having a lovely fall season! Today’s steal, the Happy Harvest collection by Imaginisce, couldn’t compliment my love of fall, changing leaves, crisp air and beloved pecan pie any better! I had a blissful time creating cards for today’s Monday Card Madness using the papers from this collection.

I had fun scraplifting myself and based this week’s sketch off of one of the Halloween cards that I created for last Friday’s blog post. Simple and boasts a bounty of different colors and patterns. Plus, this is an excellent card sketch to use to use up those tiny scraps left over from a layout, which you may not want to throw away.

• • • • •

I then put a twist on the sketch and created basically the same thing in a vertical format.

I couldn’t resist just creating two more cards on the whim!

Don’t forget in order to be eligible to be the random winner of our October Monday Card Madness drawing all you need to do is have your card creation posted somewhere on line and linked to one of the Monday Card Madness blog posts by November 4th at 11:59PM MS

Here is this week’s reminder on our current card swap.

  • This particular swap is a holiday-themed swap.
  • Create 10 cards following a Christmas, holiday or winter theme. (*Please leave me a note if you have a preference of Christmas or holiday cards and I will do my best to sort accordingly).
  • All cards must include envelopes.
  • Cards must be received at the Scrapbook Steals warehouse by November 7, 2011. (Scrapbook Steals, Attn: Card Swap, 2181 California Ave., #400, SLC, UT  84045)
  • Once your cards have gone postal, be sure to send an email to letting me know they are on their way.
  • Lastly wait patiently for 10 amazing creations by different artists to find their way back to your door!

Have a great day and be sure to check in tomorrow for our next How To’sday tutorial!  :)

Scrapping Cottage

Who doesn’t love little things? I know I do. If you are a fan of “little” then today’s steal, the Mini Die Collections from Scrapping Cottage, are sure to be right up your alley. I have to admit, that my only problem with the dies offered today were, #1 – deciding which ones to use, and #2 – forcing myself to quit creating so that I could get the blog post ready for today! :)

I’m kind of a sucker for Halloween. In fact it will be 22 years ago this upcoming Halloween night that my dear husband and I met! As much fun as I have dressing up my little goblins, I think I love even more that it’s my anniversary of sorts, so I went for creating with the Halloween collection first and made a card (or two) using the spider and bat dies that I could give to my hunny on our special day. Now to decide which one to give to him!

I also thought it could be very fun to make a bag topper for class parties or for an extra special treat bag for extra special trick-or-treaters, so I put the ridiculously cute cat die to use!

Next I moved on to some Holiday themed cards being as I really need to finish up my Holiday cards for the card swap! These are the three cards that I created using the gingerbread man, reindeer and Ho, Ho, Ho dies.

Well. There you have it. A little piece of mini-die heaven!

I hope you have a great weekend. Be safe and scrap happy!

Sassafras Lass | Mid Week Mojo

Opal Club — Layout 3

I truly cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it was to create this weeks Mid Week Mojo, during the crop, amongst people I dearly love. Funny thing is that I went to the crop somewhat unprepared and did not have a single photo with me. I grabbed one of today’s Sassafras Lass Collection Kits, which I knew I would be working with, and turned to my neighbor, Heather Conklin and asked her if she would let me scrap a layout for her. The combination of the colors in the photo of her little Isla, along with the amazing scheme in the Broadcast Sunshine collection were meant to be.

I love the teals and grey complimented by the yellows and pinks. In fact I have to say that this is my favorite Sass collection ever, and I’m so pleased that I was able to use it on such an adorable photo.

Now if I could just somehow morph Heather’s beautiful handwriting into my own, I’d be set. :)

I also want to take a moment and let you all know how much seeing the creations that you make based off of my sketches each week means to me. I was filled with so much happiness and joy over the weekend as I saw many of the versions of Opal 2 come to pass before my very eyes. I love that I can inspire and somehow, even though it be in a very small way, have a part of your family history preservation. Thanks to you all for sharing your creations, your talents and your time with us.

And now it’s time for our weekly random winner. Congrats are in order for Brettany Quinton.

Brett, if you will please send your address in an email to, we will be happy to ship a prize out to you.

As always, this week’s sketch will need to be posted and linked to this blog posting by 11:59PM MST on Monday, October 24th. Also if you are new to our Mid Week Mojo challenge or have any particular questions, you can find all of the details here. As we continue week to week, bookmark this page for your quick reference to Mid Week Mojo links.

I genuinely look forward to seeing the interpretations of this weeks sketch! I hope you all have a lovely day. <3
