I think you’re all with me when I say that it’s pretty Rock Star that we’ve reached THIRTY weeks of Mid Week Mojo’s.  Today’s Steal, the  Twinkle Twinkle Little Star collection by Piggy Tales couldn’t portray the Rock Star factor of our milestone in any more perfect of a way!

What is even more Rock Star for me is that I was given a challenge for this weeks Mojo.  Our friend Chloe Salerno asked me if she could challenge me with a sketch.  Truth be told, I looooove my weeks when we feature a Guest Sketcher and use that time as a much needed brain break, so I’m delighted and thrilled with the idea of being given a sketch from one of you, to see how I interpret it.

Here is the sketch that Chloe gave me.

As I sat contemplating the design and the theme of the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star papers I decided that I wanted to do a layout about my uncle who is a huge Rock Star figure in my life.  I used the grid design of Chloe’s sketch to inspire the design of what I created for this week.  I kept the nine square “quilt design” but replaced the embellishment blocks with photos since I had so many that I wanted to include and also opted for stars as my theme embellishment.  I used Photoshop to morph all of the photos into one block and even typed the journaling as part of the big “picture”.

The Twinkle Twinkle Little Star collection has sooooooo much potential not only for little boys and of course those infamous photos of playing Rock Band, but would work great for layouts like I did as well as photos of a little girls dance concert or even photos of your daughters crush on Justin Bieber!   I love a collection that has so much versatility.  I also love the backsides of these papers…especially the silver one.  I know the photo doesn’t do justice, but the silver backside has almost a shimmery look to it.  So much fun for making stars!

I also love the big chipboard pieces that come with this collection.  Rough up the edges a little and the Rock Star layout is a rockin’!

So if you’re after a collection that can rock your world with potential then today’s Steal is it!  Thank you Chloe for such an amazing sketch.  That was truly so much fun for me to create something based off of the ideas of someone else.  Maybe I ought to try those guest designer sketches one of these weeks after all.
