Feeling a little overwhelmed by your ever growing scrapbooking supplies? Well the good news is we have more ideas to help you get those creative spaces under control.

Today is the final installment in our scrap space organization series.  I’ve truly loved seeing some of the creative ideas for organizing scrapbooking spaces, whether large or small! We had a couple of girls send in links to their amazing creative spaces. Here is a peek into the creative spaces of our seven final friends in this series.

“I try to keep my work desk clean and I group my things together.

Closet: Stickers and rub-ons on the clip it up. Chipboard and other albums and some works in progress in the large drawers. My embossing stuff, foam stamps and paint are all in the three small drawers. The medium drawers are home to things I want to use on scrap pages (mementos from trips and sentimental cards). I also keep cards I’ve made, my old albums and empty albums in the closet along with office supplies.

In the nook: Single papers are in 12×12 drawers and stacked in matching sets within the drawers. Cardstock is in drawers sorted by color. I keep my acrylic stamps in a three-ring binder. I use large plastic bags to keep my kits together in a basket. I keep projects I am working on in the plastic cases on the bookcase as well as my magazines and photos. The cupboard has plastic shoe boxes holding all my ribbons, buttons, brads, extra adhesive, handheld trimmers and flowers etc. I also house card blanks and paper pads in there.

My most used supplies are on my desktop in the brown carrier. When scrapping i keep 3 baskets by me one for scraps that are usable, one for scraps to recycle and one for stuff that needs to be put away when I’m done. It’s easier for me to put it in a basket and then go to each spot and put it all away.

I am very messy while working so the plastic bags help and they are great for grabbing and going (I often scrap at work on breaks when I work nights).”

“The best advice I received about organizing my scrap area is to keep your things with in arms reach of where you work.  In December I redid my area with some new shelves and storage containers.  All my papers and Stickles are organized by color.  The punches, alphas, ribbon, adhesives each have their own drawer or bin.  This has made scrapping much easier and more fun.”

“My corner is a work-in-progress. We recently moved and I’m thrilled to have a better space to scrap in. Now I just have to find more time to scrap!

This side of my scrapping area is coming along nicely. I will likely add some shelves to the right of the counter. The counter is actually an Ikea Expedit shelf. I saw it in the store standing vertically, but I love the height of it horizontally for using my Cricut. The magnetic board is also from Ikea. They come in a variety of colours, too, so if you can’t paint your room they’re ideal for adding a splash of colour to enhance your scrap-space. The bar and hooks are also from Ikea. We bought them a number of years ago for use in our kitchen, but when we moved they no longer had a home, so I decided to move them into my scrap corner–I love them! The collapsible turquoise totes are Martha Stewart from Home Depot. One is full of rubber stamps and the other contains my Cuttlebug/Sizzix dies.

Here is my actual scrap-desk. It is from Ikea’s Expedit line as well. The white is perfect for keeping my workspace looking bright and clean and it doesn’t detract from the pages I’m working on. The baskets are from Ikea. The lamp is clamped to the desk and has a natural light fluorescent light bulb to help keep my colours true. I found this a must since my scrapbook corner is in the basement and doesn’t have a window nearby. The cubbies in the shelves fit scrapbook albums and paper nicely. I have a great tote that I use to keep some of my favourite tools nearby and is easily carried to a crop. The basket with the ribbons is just a plastic basket with chrome handle that I stole from my bathroom. It has little rows of circles cut out of all four sides, so it’s ideal for filling with ribbons and pulling the ends out through each circle. It’s useful and pretty, too! The purple/green tote to the left (from Walmart) has a pull-down front with four divided organizers that are full of buttons, eyelets, brads, etc.

Behind my desk I painted a nice piece of masonite peg board for organizing some of my tools and ribbons. I have yet to make the best use of it, but it’s coming along. I hope to add some nice shelving below to hold my paper stash.
