Wowee! I can’t believe we are comfortably sailing along on our way through the ‘Emerald Club’ mojo sketches. How great is that? If you become a member of both clubs that will be TWENTY amazing layouts in your scrapbooks and all since JUNE!
When I knew I would be creating with Today’s Steal, the KI Posh Kit, I was a teeny bit indecisive as to what I was planning on creating. I love the gorgeous, girly colors, but have this hangup with wanting to scrapbook current photos. I was sifting through my photos and realized how perfect these papers would be for not only springtime, summertime, baby girl, all about me pages….but for HALLOWEEN? Yup. It’s true. I used this kit to complete a layout about my and her fairy costume.
I sat down and immediately knew that this layout would have to be a 2 pager. Wayyyyy too many photos to choose from!
I really wanted to enlarge my favorite photo to use as the highlight of the left hand page.
I moved around the other 3 photos on the right hand side of the page until I settled upon a layered, tilted look. While I am usually a very linear scrapper, this really seemed to work for the feel of the layout.
I also have to admit that lace papers kind of scare me but they are OH so pretty! I decided to challenge myself to use the piece that comes with the kit. All in all I don’t think it turned out too shabby!
I felt like the entire piece of lace paper was a little overwhelming so I decided to cut it up and spread it out across the 2 pages.
I cannot say enough good about the embellishments that come with this kit. Why might you ask? Because they are so sparkly! Oh how this girl loves some bling! I decided I wanted a little more empahsis on the glitter flowers so I decided to back them onto white cardstock and adhere them to the page using pop dots.
I also love how the brads finished off the centers of some flowers that I added quite nicely!
Last but not least I had to add a fairly decent sized journaling area to tell the story of my ‘Fairyly Gorgeous’ girl!
All in all, even though I am a challenged individual when it comes to working with only patterns, I really like how this page turned out, and can’t wait to show my girly!
As I was cleaning up I couldn’t resist throwing together some cards with my scraps!
All of us had such a great time browsing through all of the incredibly creative MWM #16 sketches. I loved seeing how everyone made Jessica’s sketch work for them! I have to thank my buddy, Random.Org for selecting this weeks winner, Sarah Cunico.
I love how she turned the sketch into a birthday gift! SO creative!
Sarah, will you please send us a quick email to orders@scrapbooksteals.com with your address and we will get a little something sent out to you soon!
Good luck this week on getting one step closer to becoming an Emerald Club member. I know that I have promised you Diamond Club members a little ‘flair’ to dress up your blogs or Facebook pages. Be on the lookout for that shortly. And if you are a Diamond Club member and haven’t yet sent me a request, please send me a quick email to kristy@stealnetwork.com, so that I can get your flair sent out to you!
One more reminder…make sure that you have your layout posted to our Facebook Fan Page, or other online source such as a blog, by next Monday at Midnight in order to be eligible for next weeks random drawing.
Sending you all lovely happy scrappy vibes!
